Construction Project Manager

At KAG Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to lead our initiatives in the northern regions. Reporting to the Vice President of NT, this role is responsible for finding, estimating, and bidding prospective construction jobs based in and around Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and the surrounding Northern communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Preparation: Identify opportunities and bid work based on established strategy and cost models.
- Collaborate closely with clients during the initial stages of project development to ensure a strategic approach to planning, setup, construction and completion.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders, addressing issues as they arise to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Exhibit strong financial and business insight to keep the project on time and budget based on the scope of the work to deliver best in class results for the client.
- Delegate tasks and oversee project delivery and team performance.
- Foster strong relationships with current and potential clients while exploring new business opportunities.
- Spearhead the implementation of training and tools to enhance service delivery.
- Drive business development and account management initiatives in the northern regions.
- Collaborate closely with our partners Indigenous communities.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in leading project management initiatives of varying sizes and scopes.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, project management frameworks, financial management, and relevant codes, contract law, and legislation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and collaboration abilities to engage with clients, colleagues, and industry experts.
- Experience working in northern regions, fostering long-term client relationships, and collaborating with local governments and Indigenous communities is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to influence others and resolve issues related to clients, projects, staff, and technical matters.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.
- Professional industry certifications such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, RA, or similar designations are considered a strong asset.
- Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.
