About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Realtime Digital Control System Software Systems Designer to join our Computer Systems Engineering department. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for digital system design, equipment selection and procurement, and all software activities. Your key responsibilities will include preparing requirements and preliminary designs for digital equipment systems, executing software engineering tasks, and evaluating computer vendor products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare requirements and preliminary designs for digital equipment systems.
- Execute software engineering tasks, including software requirements specification, software design descriptions, coding, verification, testing, and documentation.
- Evaluate computer vendor products and prepare processes and procedures for implementing such products into the computer software design, development, and V&V processes.
Requirements:
An honours degree in a relevant field of engineering or computer science is required. PEO eligibility is also required. 7+ years of experience in a computer controls environment is preferred, but may be waived. Familiarity or experience with software design/development based on documented industry or international guidelines/standards is an asset.
