Senior Digital Control System Software Architect

As a Senior Digital Control System Software Designer/Engineer at Morson Canada, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants. Your expertise will be utilized to create software solutions for control, monitoring, and operator displays.
Key Responsibilities- Develop software requirements specifications and design descriptions for digital equipment systems.
- Prepare tools and test systems for the production of safety-critical software.
- Execute software engineering tasks, including coding, verification, testing, and documentation.
- Evaluate computer vendor products and prepare processes and procedures for implementing them into the computer software design, development, and V&V processes.
- Assist in planning activities associated with design, verification, and testing of computerized safety, control, and monitoring systems.
- Participate in the concept design of safety, control, and monitoring computer systems to define system requirements, computer architecture, product/tool technologies, and evaluate system performance and reliability.
- Develop software and scripts using various programming languages and toolsets, including IEC 61131-3 languages, C, C++, and others.
- Test script development using in-house scripting languages.
- Update and prepare Computers Engineering design documents, including software requirements specifications, software design descriptions, and software manuals.
- Interface with various engineering disciplines, suppliers, and other divisions within the company.
- Develop cyber security processes and documentation related to project activities and identify vulnerabilities/controls for specific end-devices.
- Honors degree in a relevant field of engineering or computer science from a university of recognized standing.
- PEO eligibility is required.
- 10+ years of experience in a computer controls environment is preferred, but may be waived.
- Familiarity or experience with software design/development based on documented industry or international guidelines/standards is an asset.
