Realtime Digital Control System Software/Systems Designer

Job Summary:
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Jr Realtime Digital Control System Software/Systems Designer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement software requirements specifications for test and development systems.
- Execute software engineering tasks including coding, verification, testing, and documentation.
- Evaluate computer vendor products and prepare processes and procedures for implementing them into software design.
- Assist in planning activities associated with design, verification, and testing of computerized safety, control, and monitoring systems.
- Participate in the concept design of safety, control, and monitoring computer systems to define system requirements, computer architecture, and product technologies.
- Develop software and scripts using programming languages such as C, C++, VHDL, Fortran, Pascal, and Visual Studio.
- Test script development using in-house scripting languages.
- Prepare and update design documents including software requirements specifications, design descriptions, and software manuals.
- Interface with engineering disciplines, suppliers, and divisions within the company.
Requirements:
- Honours degree in engineering or computer science from a recognized university.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in computer controls environment.
- Familiarity with software design based on industry guidelines is an asset.
- Good technical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
