Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at 1st Step Montessori Inc. as a key member of our educational staff.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes leading activities, guiding children in daily routines, and establishing collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
Requirements:
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Punctuality, dependability, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and a team player attitude.
  • Experience an asset.
  • Permanent position.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • English language.
