Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Transportation Operations Supervisor to join our team at Batala Carriers Ltd.

About the Role

The Transportation Operations Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our trucking fleet, including training and coordinating with drivers, managing repairs and rentals, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train or arrange for training of truck drivers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed by drivers and other personnel involved in transportation operations.
  • Recommend personnel actions, such as hiring, promoting, or disciplining drivers, based on performance and other factors.
  • Coordinate repairs and rentals of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance and arranging for replacement vehicles when needed.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for transportation operations.
Supervision and Leadership
  • Supervise and lead a team of truck drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A strong background in transportation operations, preferably with experience in supervisory or management roles.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, mechanics, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in transportation operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in transportation operations supervision.
Work Environment
