Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our Homelessness Programs and Residential Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating street outreach, housing support programs, and supportive housing programs. You will also be responsible for managing complex contracts and service agreements, negotiating budgets, and providing leadership in developing and implementing local planning processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate street outreach, housing support programs, and supportive housing programs
  • Manage complex contracts and service agreements
  • Negotiate budgets and costs associated with services contracts
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing local planning processes
  • Facilitate community consultations with agency stakeholders and clients
  • Resolve conflicts and problem-solve with community agencies
  • Support senior staff in decision-making processes
Requirements
  • Completion of a 3-year university degree in Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Criminology or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the homelessness services system, supportive housing, or social services sector
  • Direct experience in planning, designing, implementing, funding, and evaluating programs targeted to vulnerable, at-risk, low-income persons
  • Strong knowledge of social services design, implementation, and evaluation
  • Excellent consultative and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
