About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Funding Programs and Alliances to join our dynamic Innovation and Portfolio Management team in our Medical Affairs and Innovation division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research and training funding programs that align with organizational strategic goals.
  • Manage projects to support research and training programs, including project planning, risk assessment, and issue resolution.
  • Provide leadership to direct reporting employees, including performance appraisals and team deployment.
  • Implement processes to facilitate financial administration of research funding and maintain dynamic partner relationships with government and non-government organizations.
  • Oversee the collection of performance metrics and generate accurate reports.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
  • 8+ years of combined experience in program management, research administration, strategy development, project management, and financial administration.
  • 5+ years' experience in managing human and financial resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian research landscape operations and policies.
  • Strong sense of research and training funding innovation and ability to integrate current and future funding trends.

Work Environment

This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at one of Canadian Blood Services locations at least 40% of the time.

Travel requirements are minimal for annual conferences, meetings, and partnership building opportunities.
