Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our Community and Social Services Department. This is a temporary full-time position that will play a key role in the development and implementation of homelessness prevention and support programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement homelessness prevention and support programs, including street outreach, housing support, and transitional housing initiatives.
  • Coordinate with community agencies, stakeholders, and funders to provide housing support and homelessness prevention services.
  • Develop and monitor complex contracts and service agreements, and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for community consultations, research, and analysis to inform program development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop and implement local planning processes to determine service needs and develop solutions to improve service delivery.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 3-year university degree in Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the homelessness services system, supportive housing, or social services sector, with direct experience in program development, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of social services design, implementation, and evaluation, as well as project management principles and techniques.
  • Excellent consultative and facilitation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and community partners.
  • Strong research, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to compile and analyze complex data and make formal presentations to senior staff and agency representatives.
