Operating Room Technician

Your Opportunity:
An exciting and dynamic opportunity is available for an Operating Room Technician to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of the perioperative team, you will be responsible for assisting with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in a fast-paced 18-theatre Surgical Suite Unit.
About the Role:
This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to work in a multidisciplinary team environment, providing safe and quality patient care. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including preparing operating rooms, assisting with surgical procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Current OR experience within the previous year in an adult OR environment with demonstrated scrub and circulating skills
- Excellent assessment, organizational, and patient care skills with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of Perioperative Nursing course or one-year current experience in an adult operating room in a level 1 trauma center is advantageous.
