Job Summary

Chrysta ABA Academy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Strategies:
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
    • Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and capabilities of each student.
    • Collaborate with students, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Student Growth and Development:
    • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
    • Provide or supervise personal care, medical care, and feeding of students as stated in their IEPs.
    • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Classroom Management and Organization:
    • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
    • Manage student behavior and administer discipline as necessary.
    • Consult with colleagues and external resources to address student needs.
  • Communication:
    • Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
    • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Requirements
  • Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
    • Valid teaching certificate with required special education endorsements.
    • English as a Second Language Certification preferred.
    • Gifted and Talented Certification preferred.
  • Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area.
    • Knowledge of IEP goal setting process and implementation.
    • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
