About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Academic Aide to provide support to students with disabilities at NAIT. As an Academic Aide, you will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a smooth and successful academic experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with accessing course materials, setting up personal effects in the classroom, and other related duties.
  • Facilitate access to assistive technologies as required for students with disabilities.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with staff and instructors to ensure student success.
  • Participate in mandatory training as required for the assignment.
  • Perform other duties as required dependent on assignment.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary diploma in a related field (e.g. Educational Assistant, Teacher's Assistant) is required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a post-secondary setting is beneficial.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including learning, mental health, and physical disabilities.
  • Ability to travel between campuses may be required.
What We Offer

NAIT offers a competitive hourly rate of $26.46 to $33.13, plus 12% vacation and statutory holiday pay. This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
