Health and Safety Manager

Central Protection Services is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and control budget and expenditures related to health and safety initiatives
- Manage contracts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Initiate enforcement procedures to fine or close establishments that pose a risk to health and safety
- Oversee the analysis of employee data and information to identify potential health and safety risks
- Develop and implement health and safety plans and strategies
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and enforced
- Oversee the preparation of reports and provide recommendations for improvement
- Advise senior management on health and safety matters
- Respond to employee questions and complaints related to health and safety
- Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures to resolve health and safety concerns
- Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Recruit and hire staff to support health and safety initiatives
- Conduct performance reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs
- Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Criminal record check
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors
- Ability to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Sound discrimination and ability to wear steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, and ear plugs
- Client focus, excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgment, and ability to work in a team
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
- Green job that involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes
