We are looking for an exceptional candidate who is enthusiastic about using data-driven insights to inform decision-making. They should possess impeccable written and verbal communication skills and be able to solve complex problems involving concepts such as causal inference. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering scalable, extensible solutions that navigate multiple perspectives to meet stakeholder needs.
Key responsibilities for this role include mentoring, growing, and supporting the team in their short-term and long-term goals. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for managing the operational health, goal delivery, and team health. You will also represent your team in forums, build a 1-year and 3-year vision, and focus on maintaining a positive team culture.
A day in the life of a Technical Lead for Large-Scale Product Development includes working on vision, architecture designs, brainstorming with other engineers and leaders, risk mitigation, mentoring, and planning. The team participates in weekly demos, happy hours, bi-weekly retrospectives, priority alignment, monthly goal tracking, and quarterly team events.
The team has grown significantly over the past four years, from six initial members to over thirty diverse professionals, including engineers, scientists, product managers, data engineers, economists, business intelligence engineers, and interns. We are now expanding our team further and seeking talented individuals to join us.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- At least 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- 7+ years of direct experience within engineering teams
- 3+ years of designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
- 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
- Familiarity with full software/hardware/networks development life cycle practices and patterns
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Effective communication with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
- Familiarity with MLOps, including building resilient and scalable machine learning systems
