About the Role

Mercer is seeking a highly skilled Pension Administration professional to join our team. As a key member of our pension administration Centre of Excellence, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administration services to our clients, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate pension benefits and prepare statements resulting from various events, including termination of employment, retirement, death, marriage breakdown, transfer, and more.
  • Update client databases with accurate and timely information, utilizing various systems and databases to ensure seamless data processing and accrual of benefits.
  • Prepare annual statements for plan members and annual information returns, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Understand and apply the provisions of pension plans, including flexible plans, executive plans, and hybrid plans.
  • Calculate pension adjustments, reversals, and past service pension adjustments, providing accurate and timely results.
  • Respond to client and member inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Administer complex pension plans, including those with flexible features, executive plans, and hybrid plans.
  • Participate in special projects, such as plan termination, early-retirement programs, pension indexation, and implementation of new plan provisions.
Requirements
  • Bilingual (French and English) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, actuarial science, mathematics, or business administration.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work in teams, with accountability and resourcefulness.
  • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
