Student Information Advisor

The Student Information Advisor role is designed to deliver comprehensive and precise guidance to current and prospective students, academic departments, and the broader community regarding admissions, course selection, student records, and registration processes, specifically tailored for Arts students.
Key Responsibilities- Information Dissemination: Provide detailed and accurate information to students about university policies, degree requirements, and academic procedures, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Student Support: Assist students in navigating their academic journey by interpreting regulations and offering insights into the implications of their academic choices.
- Data Management: Maintain and update student records within various information systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for new staff members, sharing knowledge about systems and processes to enhance service delivery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various university departments to provide a seamless support experience for students, referring them to appropriate resources as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in testing and quality assurance processes for new systems, documenting findings and suggesting improvements.
- Customer Service: Address inquiries from students through various communication channels, employing sensitivity and professionalism in all interactions.
Applicants should possess a high school diploma along with a two-year post-secondary qualification and a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is essential.
Preferred Skills- Familiarity with student information systems and data management.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly MS Excel.
- Experience in project management is advantageous.
