The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Yukon Energy, a leading provider of electrical energy in the Yukon territory. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and directing mechanical utility projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  2. Prepare written reports for mechanical utility maintenance and construction programs.
  3. Manage all phases of the project, including concept, design, construction, and closeout.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with P.Eng. Designation in Canada and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Yukon.
  2. Experience and knowledge of power utility maintenance and/or operations.
  3. Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering theory, design, and operating mechanism/parameters of hydro-generator and thermal units.
  4. Working knowledge of mechanical engineering codes and standards, and regulations that apply to electrical utility generation facilities.
