Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer-in-Training 2 to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting on various projects, contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of our Service Line, and providing exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with the Project Manager to provide our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, collecting and coordinating useful information.
- Maintain a working relationship with other teammates.
- Participate in discussions with clients as required.
- Gain an understanding of quality control.
- Under supervision, prepare engineering design, specification, and/or recommendations for various tasks, including HVAC, energy analysis, equipment selection and specification, fuel systems, high and low-pressure piping, mechanical design details, plumbing, sustainable design, and storm and sewer design.
- Under supervision, write basic field inspections and technical reports.
- Develop routine mechanical drawings with draftsperson.
- Conduct site evaluations and inspections with the support of senior teammates.
- Participate in facility evaluations and assist in technical report writing.
- Under supervision, complete design and spec drawings.
- Under supervision, design routine mechanical details and write technical specifications.

- Team members are required to adhere to company policies and guidelines as well as company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.
- Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status with appropriate Provincial Association
Working towards a P.Eng.
- Have an understanding of various engineering disciplines, including HVAC, energy analysis, equipment selection and specification, fuel systems, high and low-pressure piping, mechanical design details, plumbing, sustainable design, and storm and sewer design.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen well, respect diversity of opinions, and communicate clearly and succinctly.
- Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
- Ability to represent the company to WE teammates, clients, and community by ensuring the best image is presented.
- Application knowledge of WE systems and programs, including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
- Build an understanding of engineering calculations with accurate, clear design notes.
- Understanding the ethical application of technical work.
- Understand HVAC criteria and apply it to industrial structures.
- Understand local, provincial, and national codes, regulations, and guidelines affecting design and construction.
- Work towards a capability in engineering calculations with accurate, clear design notes.
- Understand the process for tracking correspondence and work method preparation.
- Able to interpret basic multi-disciplinary drawings, basic plan and profile drawings.
