Your Opportunity:

In Alberta, Canada, you have a unique chance to work as a Registered Nurse (RN) with Alberta Health Services (AHS). AHS currently offers a competitive rate of pay, with an additional Northern Allowance up to $6,300 per year. This allowance is non-pensionable and paid hourly for all hours worked at the basic rate. Furthermore, eligible employees receive reimbursement for personal travel expenses up to $1,235 annually. This benefit includes one round trip within Alberta from a community above the 57th parallel.

Job Description:

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills through nursing processes. Additionally, you will teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. In your role, you will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Your goal is to deliver safe and quality patient-centered care aligned with AHS's shared vision and values.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $83,000-$110,000 based on industry standards and location. As a nurse with AHS, you will be part of a comprehensive benefits package, including a pension plan, life insurance, and access to continuing education opportunities. With experience and certifications, your earning potential can increase significantly.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, you must complete an accredited nursing education program and be registered and licensed to practice in Alberta. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also required. If you have been out of practice for five years or more, you may need to complete additional training courses.
