Job Title: Emergency Medical Responder

HSE Integrated Ltd. is seeking Emergency Medical Responders for casual shift/rotational work at various stations across Alberta.

The primary objective is to provide immediate onsite medical care to injured workers and advise or arrange timely transport to a medical facility as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with HSE Medical Control Guidelines, safety policies, job procedures, and applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Report to the station manager and take job directions from Operations for the station being worked in.
  • Work within the scope of practice determined by the licensing body and under the medical control of the HSE Medical Director, utilizing the HSE Medical Control Guidelines.
  • Ensure the patient's dignity, safety, privacy, and confidentiality are maintained.
  • Provide immediate and professional on-site medical care and advise or arrange timely transport to additional medical care as needed.
  • Report to and take direction from the Station Manager for the district being worked in.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with and work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or incidents to HSE Integrated supervision and management immediately.
  • Refuse work if danger is imminent or not controlled.

Certifications and Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted registration as an EMR with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
  • Standard field-level tickets: H2S Alive Standard First Aid.
  • Valid, unrestricted Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current and clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Previous experience in the Industrial or Oil & Gas sector as a medic is considered an asset.
  • Physical capability to work in adverse weather environments and conditions.
  • Will to cross-train for other positions or locations.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
