About the Role

As an Emergency Medical Responder, you will be responsible for transporting patients from emergency scenes and between facilities. You will operate ambulances or other modes of transportation, assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide simple treatments. You will also ensure that ambulances and other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped.

Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Emergency Medical Responder or Primary Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Emergency Medical Responder
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months prior to the application date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EMS practices and procedures in the North Zone, within the past (3) years
  • Working in a suburban/rural emergency environment, within the past (3) years
  • Working in an inter-facility transport environment
  • Patient care in a clinical or pre-hospital setting
