Geotechnical EIT Job Opportunity

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geotechnical EIT to join our team in Halifax, NS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support on geotechnical projects, including data collection, analysis, and report writing.
  • Design and conduct field investigations, including soil and rock drilling, logging, and characterization.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and technical deliverables, including geotechnical investigations and design.
  • Perform construction inspection and field testing, including measuring and recording field data.
  • Produce detailed documentation of field conditions, measurements, and observations.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT).
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Understanding and demonstrated field experience in soil/bedrock classification, drilling methods, and in-situ testing.
  • Familiarity with software packages specific to geotechnical analysis.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment and undertake extensive fieldwork.
