Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per yearJob Description:We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical EIT to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including geotechnical investigations, design and analysis, and construction inspection.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide technical support on various geotechnical projects, including data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Design and conduct field investigations, including drilling and logging, test pit logging, soil and bedrock characterization, and monitoring well installation.
- Assist senior staff in performing design and analytical functions on projects involving slope stability, retaining walls, seepage, drainage, settlement analysis, shallow and deep foundations, dams, contaminated sites, and landfills.
- Recognized bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT).
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience (preferably in consulting); candidates with less experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated field experience in soil/bedrock classification, drilling methods, in-situ testing, soil/rock logging, sampling protocols, monitoring well and instrument installation.
- Familiarity with software packages specific to geotechnical analysis (i.e., borehole logging, analytical software such as Rocscience, GeoStudio, etc.).
- Ability to undertake extensive fieldwork in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment requiring flexibility and willingness to work overtime.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
