Nurse Specialist in Pediatric Care

This nursing professional is responsible for conducting comprehensive nursing assessments of pediatric patients on admission and at regular intervals. They will make nursing diagnoses and determine appropriate interventions based on the patient's condition.
The Pediatric Registered Nurse will collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers, physicians, and members of the inter-professional care team to develop and modify care plans. They will participate in care and discharge planning, ensuring the plan is implemented effectively.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating nursing care, prioritizing tasks, delegating duties to support staff, and identifying issues that require resolution. This professional will also teach patients and families/caregivers about illness prevention and health maintenance, document patient information according to practice standards, and participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- One (1) year's recent, related clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area
