We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Mental Health Specialist to join our team in New Westminster, B.C. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Screen psychiatric referrals from internal and external sources, gather background information, and determine service priorities.
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client and family needs, formulate treatment recommendations, and develop care plans.
- Assess the need for psychiatric evaluation, make arrangements for community psychiatrist availability, and provide general and crisis counseling to patients and families.
- Masters degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or relevant health-related discipline.
- Two years of recent related clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health, including assessment, individual, family, and group interventions.
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional association, valid BC Driver's License, and access to personal vehicle with business insurance coverage.
