Program Overview

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Program Support Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of a high-quality child care program that meets the unique needs of our children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of child care professionals to create a safe and inclusive environment for children with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Provide individualized support and care to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and implementation, ensuring alignment with provincial and YMCA standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with professional development opportunities, enhancing knowledge and skills to support the needs of children and families.

Requirements

  • Early Childhood Educator Diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or in the process of registration.
  • Minimum six months' experience working with young children, preferably in a licensed child care setting.
  • Training or experience in supporting children with special needs or diverse abilities.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Up-to-date immunizations and a commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe environment.
