Quality and Compliance Departmental Manager

Reporting to the Quality Technical Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving the company's Quality & Food Safety System in accordance with certified standards.

  • Ensuring that work activities and standards within the Quality Department are adequately described and recorded, communicated, and available in the form of specifications, work instructions, and records.
  • Driving the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality & Food Safety Management System to ensure the company achieves its quality policy and objectives.
  • Attending to document-controlled administration of approved system policies, procedures, work instructions, specifications, and records.
  • Assisting with the investigation of non-conformities, identifying root causes, and implementing countermeasures in consultation with the production team.
  • Ensuring non-conformances and customer complaints are registered on a database, and trend graphs are maintained for quality performance measurement.
  • Ensuring product release is done timely, and documentation, such as the Certificate of Analysis, is available on request.
  • Managing the duties of the Management Representative, including scheduling and closing out internal audits, and ensuring internal audits are completed within the specified timeframe.
  • Identifying and resolving problems that may arise during the production process.
  • Providing support and input to the Q&T Manager and Corporate QA regarding legal and statutory requirements to ensure compliance in domestic and international markets.
  • Staying up-to-date with food-related news and incidents in the markets, including food safety, adulteration, and changes to legislation that may impact LSAM products.
  • Managing the scheduling of and communication with BRC, GFCO, and COSTCO certification bodies to ensure continuous certifications.
  • Directly supervising the Food Safety Administrator and Quality Laboratory Supervisor with their subordinates.
  • Training Quality staff to enhance their understanding and execution of their duties.
  • Supporting the Technical & Quality Manager by assisting with priority activities within the department to align with business strategies and objectives.
  • Requiring a B.Sc. in Food Science or a Diploma in Food Technology, with training attendance certification in PRP, HACCP, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and auditing principles.
  • Requiring 3-5 years of experience in quality management of a food manufacturing enterprise.
  • Excellent administrative, planning, coordinating, and organizing skills.

  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Interpersonal skills.
