We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Mortgage Funding Specialist to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in transitioning loans from credit approval to funding, managing the loan closing and funding process, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

ResponsibilitiesLoan Closing and Funding:
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing, quality control, and funding of mortgage applications in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Manage documentation workflows, ensuring all necessary documents are collected, reviewed, and approved to guide deals to completion.
  • Update and maintain loan databases and systems, ensuring deal information is current and accurate.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to address issues or discrepancies in loan documentation and ensure all details are finalized.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal teams, such as underwriting and sales as well as external parties, including legal counsel and customers, to facilitate seamless loan closings.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency in the loan funding process.
  • Participate in special projects and automation initiatives aimed at improving business operations.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of reporting tools and processes.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve challenges or bottlenecks in the loan closing and funding process.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy throughout pre-funding operations.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and quality standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a residential real estate law clerk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with various mortgage products and industry-specific considerations is an asset.
