About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Outdoor Landscape Management Specialist to join our team at Excellent Country Landscapers Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our landscaping department, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape construction, management, and supervision. You will be responsible for planning and directing grounds maintenance, hiring and supervising staff, and coordinating with clients to ensure their satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, supervise, and schedule staff to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Plan and direct grounds maintenance, including lawn care, tree service, and landscape construction.
  • Organize and direct construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other outdoor features.
  • Manage and supervise landscape construction work, including estimating costs and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate work records and logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Tender and administer contracts with suppliers and contractors.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures to ensure efficiency and safety.
Supervision and Teamwork

You will be leading a team of 5-10 people and will be expected to provide guidance, support, and feedback to ensure their success.

Area of Specialization

Your expertise will be focused on lawn care, tree service, landscape construction, and garden centre management.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This is a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You will be required to spend extended periods standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Personal Suitability

We are looking for a client-focused individual with excellent oral communication skills, initiative, and a team player mentality. The successful candidate will have a permanent position with a guaranteed 35-40 hours per week.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
