About the Role

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team in Richmond Hill.

As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing personal care and support to our patients, enabling them to recover safely from an acute illness or remain in their homes throughout the aging process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, skincare, and light meal preparation.
  • Continuously assess and respond to the changing needs of patients, communicating available resources to patients and families as needed.
  • Perform delegated and assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Travel within assigned regions to provide care to patients in their residences or facilities.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry-approved program or be a RN/RPN student with a minimum of one year of completion.
  • Be fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, and lifting.
  • Demonstrate exceptional personal care and customer service skills.
  • Hold valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certifications.
  • Have a valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check and a Two-Step TB Test within the last 12 months.
  • Have proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
