About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pricing and Rating Expert to join our team at Lineage Logistics. As a key member of our Pricing Department, you will be responsible for transportation costing, rating, and pricing development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to customers and internal stakeholders for all rating-related inquiries.
  • Play a leadership role in the Pricing Department, collaborating effectively with team members to achieve daily objectives.
  • Communicate with existing and new customers to provide rates and invoicing support, ensuring access to all available resources and services.
  • Prospect and secure new small account transportation volume.
  • Support Business Development and participate in projects that support yield improvement and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Assist with transportation invoice inquiries and resolutions, working directly with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve disputes.
  • Perform all pricing and rates administration, working directly with external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update Lineage and customer-specific Fuel Surcharge (FSC) programs, as well as all accessorial charges within Truckmate.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all tariff and non-tariff rate structure within Truckmate.
  • Be a subject matter expert within Truckmate for the maintenance of rate sheets, accessorial charges, and FSC programs.
  • Coordinate the execution and implementation of the annual general rate increase (GRI) process, update rate agreements, and rates in Truckmate, and provide customers with updated pricing.
  • Ensure contract and rate agreement compliance with customers for scheduled rate increases, various FSC programs, and accessorial charges.
  • Ensure the customer contacts database in Truckmate is current and up-to-date.
  • Prepare spot rate quotes and shipment cost verifications, and respond to rate inquiries for both existing and new customers.
  • Monitor and action Truckmate DAWG reports by providing an administrative audit to various processes.
  • Act as a costing and pricing liaison for company-wide enquiries.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to develop competitive customer pricing proposals to maximize account revenue and profitability.
  • Translate business opportunities and customer needs into collaborative pricing solutions.
  • Dissect and prepare RFP/RFQ bid opportunities for pricing analysis and development.
  • Develop fact-based costing using TCG costing software by conducting analysis of opportunity service requirements.
  • Ensure rigor and accuracy in all pricing analysis and operate within the approved guideline framework of the pricing department.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all assigned pricing proposals and communicate to both external customers and Business Development.
  • Perform margin and pricing analysis to support the business.
  • Prepare reports for both internal and external distribution as required.
  • Prepare reporting to track key performance indicators and pricing activities within the department as required.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required, including answering the telephone, relaying messages, and responding to or re-directing customer requests for appropriate handling.
  • Provide vacation coverage for the team.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry, in an LTL and/or TL environment.
  • Costing, pricing, and/or rating experience in an LTL and/or TL environment is desirable.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Professional Logistics (P. Log) designation, or CITT is considered an asset.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Office 365 products with advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally experience with TCG costing software and Truckmate transportation management software.
  • Strong organization skills and sharp attention to detail.
  • Motivated and innovative self-starter with demonstrated initiative.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to deal with ambiguity and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential manner.
