About the Role

The Laundry Equipment Operator I role at Prairie Mountain Health is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in all aspects of laundry services, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion according to established standards and procedures.
  • Cleans assigned areas, including floors, walls, and equipment, adhering to infection control guidelines and schedules.
  • Performs daily tours of areas of responsibility to ensure cleanliness and takes corrective action as needed.
  • Ensures all equipment is clean and operating efficiently, performing routine maintenance and reporting any issues to management.
  • Collects, sorts, washes, dries, folds, and transports linen and clothing, weighing and recording soiled linen for inventory purposes.
  • Operates washing and drying equipment, performs titration and pH checks as required, and cleans and processes laundry and linen according to established standards and guidelines.
  • May be required to make minor repairs to laundry and linen equipment as needed.
  • Distributes laundry and linen as appropriate and assists with inventory procedures.

Requirements

  • Grade 9 education (Manitoba Standards) or equivalent combination of suitable education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), internet applications, and information technology.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to display independent judgment, respect and promote a culturally diverse population, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to perform duties on a regular basis and adapt to changing techniques and procedures.

Estimated Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
