Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controls Manager to join our Wealth Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements, as well as providing guidance on accounting standards and transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial controls and processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Provide guidance on accounting standards and transactions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements, and develop automated solutions to reduce manual work.
  • Develop and maintain technical accounting knowledge, and stay up-to-date on new accounting developments.
  • Support period-end close activities, and deliver on financial and management reporting deliverables.
  • Monitor the financial control environment, and perform second-level reviews of Standard of Documentation (SOD).
  • Perform and update SOX controls as needed.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including knowledge of VBA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and make recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong client service orientation.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Willingness to constantly develop new skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one automation tool or technology.
  • Working towards or near completion of an Accounting or Finance designation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial services industry experience, with knowledge of the asset management industry.
  • PeopleSoft and EPM (IBM TM1) experience.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau.
