Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Control Manager to join our Canadian Banking team. As a key member of our team, you will provide accounting advisory services, implement effective processes, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess accounting and financial statement implications of new initiatives to enable business partners to make informed decisions.
  • Review quarterly financial disclosures and related variance analysis, investigating abnormalities in financial results.
  • Establish financial infrastructure for Personal and Commercial Banking products, assessing financial risk and implementing proper controls and processes.
  • Monitor the Financial Control environment, performing administration and review of Standard of Documentation and following up on queries.
  • Assist with data strategy projects and ad-hoc initiatives to enhance transparency and accuracy of data.
  • Participate in process transformation, automating and streamlining existing processes and implementing new ones.
Requirements
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting designation.
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably in an audit firm or financial institution.
  • Strong IFRS working knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of retail banking products or willingness to develop that knowledge.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deliverables within a tight timeline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of RBC financial systems.
