Job Title: Financial Controller

Go2STAFFING is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations for a specialty chemical company with multiple international branches and family-owned holding companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all financial reporting and develop and implement accounting policies, systems, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to the Managing Director, Owners, and Management Team.
  • Ensure sales activities are supported by accurate financial data and work closely with the Sales Leadership Team.
  • Lead the internal accounting functions and ensure any staff working on accounting functions have clear direction and feedback.
  • Prepare monthly income, receivables, payables, cash flow, and balance statements and assist with planning of sales management activities.
  • Prepare regular company metrics and special reports for the Managing Director, Sales team, and Management Team.
  • Communicate with customers on an as-needed basis and annually prepare and present financial year-end reports and analyses.
  • Review expenses and ensure signoffs for all expense statements are obtained.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure company financial information is fairly stated.
  • Organize audits and assist external auditors as required.
  • Work with external accounting firms on tax management and be responsible for tax filings.
  • Keep up to date with accounting changes in Canada, the US, and the EU.
  • Create the corporate metrics necessary to ensure targets are being met and create, monitor, and report on the tracking towards the targets.
  • Manage external communications to authorities, regulators, etc. on all financial matters.
  • Build processes to add 'checks and balances' to all financial processes with an eye to creating processes that are 100% transparent.
  • Manage payroll (through ADP) and commission calculations and payout for staff.
  • Liaise with, and coordinate the work of, external accountants.
  • Maintain and manage banking relationships and banking activities.
  • Attend and participate fully in internal management and all-staff meetings.
Requirements:
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
