About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX Architect to join our team at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating roadmaps for UX designs, UX frameworks, and components, as well as UX development processes across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement UX strategies that align with business objectives and drive customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to design applications that utilize UX frameworks and components, ensuring best practices and patterns are adopted.
  • Provide domain knowledge leadership across multiple development teams, ensuring a consistent customer experience and information architecture across all channels.
  • Communicate strategies and designs to development teams, design teams, and management, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with current computing trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to design and implement innovative UX solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and building React-based Single-Page Applications (SPAs), reusable UX components, and UX frameworks.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing methods and tools for creating taxonomies, user flow diagrams, and screen layouts, with a fundamental understanding of findability and usability concepts.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence, GHE/Github, AWS Cloudfront, Jenkins, and Concourse.
  • Demonstrated abilities in self-motivation, creativity, willingness to learn, resourcefulness, intuition, thoroughness, and ability to work with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with user acceptance processes and methods.
  • Experience with low-code UX development methods and technologies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, applied mathematics, or a related field.
