Job Title: Principal Research and Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Research and Development Engineer to join our team at Baylis Medical Technologies Inc. in Canada. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing innovative medical devices for minimally invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and develop novel devices for minimally invasive procedures, including interventional radiology and vascular interventions.
  • Collaborate with the regulatory department to obtain product approvals and work on patent applications with the IP department.
  • Support the development of intellectual property within the company and sustain R&D activities on commercial production lines.
  • Work on all elements of the Research and Development of novel minimally invasive devices, from concept generation through to commercialization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in engineering, with a focus on medical device development.
  • Excellent aptitude for mechanical engineering design and strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills.
  • Ability to independently develop and adapt work plans based on vague or changing project goals.
  • Strong interest in biomedical technology and a dynamic, flexible approach to work with a results-oriented attitude.
