Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Director at Davis-Standard, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of quality practices to support the company's goals. You will be part of a team that is committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Assurance Director. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for deploying and sustaining quality management processes throughout the organization. You will lead best practices to improve operational processes, reduce operating costs, and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

You will manage our Quality Management System to ensure continued compliance with international certification bodies, including ISO across the GTA campus. You will also oversee site quality team functions, including incoming inspection, customer feedback, part inspection, supplier quality assessments, NCRs, CARs, and final test.

Responsibilities
  1. Deploy and sustain quality management processes to drive operational excellence and improve quality.
  2. Lead and deploy best practices throughout the local organization to improve operational processes, reduce operating costs, and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  3. Manage our Quality Management System to ensure continued compliance with international certification bodies, including ISO across the GTA campus.
  4. Oversee site quality team functions, including incoming inspection, customer feedback, part inspection, supplier quality assessments, NCRs, CARs, and final test.
  5. Assess and analyze operational performance to identify and eliminate waste, organize around Lean processes to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  6. Monitor site operational improvement project activities to assure control of milestones, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
  7. Support sessions such as Root Cause analysis, Kaizen activities, Lean workshops, Gemba walks, Daily Management Systems, and training to address operational performance and support achievement of Surpass Operating System objectives.
  8. Evaluate staff performance and provide appropriate advice, counsel, and guidance. Assist in the preparation and conduct timely performance reviews.
  9. Interface with all site-level management to resolve problems and issues that have reached critical level regarding design, quality, etc.
  10. Provide technical support to marketing, sales, and outside customers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or closely related field.
  • Effective communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 5 years' progressive experience in any job title with duties involving quality assurance systems in a manufacturing environment.
Estimated Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
