Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Garage Door Installation and Service Technician to join our team at Overhead Door Corporation. As a key member of our installation and service team, you will be responsible for leading the installation and service of overhead garage doors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise installation and service teams to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects
  • Install and service overhead garage doors, including sectional, rolling steel, fire doors, high-speed doors, security grilles, roll shutters, and bifold doors
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with overhead doors and provide solutions and required work
  • Communicate and coordinate with schedulers to resolve issues and provide updates on project status
  • Welding for installation or repair as required
  • Assess job scope at the beginning of each job and note any discrepancies to the scheduler
  • Travel to installation and service sites, including out-of-town locations, as required
  • Provide estimates for service calls and recommend repair or replacement options
  • Lift and move heavy equipment and materials, up to 75 pounds or more, as required
  • Work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, and manage equipment and tools
  • Complete all required paperwork, including timesheets, FHLA's, and job workorders, and submit on time
  • Participate in on-call rotation for service and respond to emergency calls as required
  • Pass pre-employment screening requirements, including drug, alcohol, and health assessments
  • Hold a valid driver's license and transport products on trailers and manlifts safely
  • Develop and maintain a strong safety mindset and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Attend training sessions and maintain up-to-date safety certifications, including Fall Protection, OSSA Elevated Work Platform, Standard First Aid, and CSTS
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Experience in a service/installation industry, preferably with overhead doors
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • CDI Certification is an asset but not required
  • Relevant safety training and tickets are an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements
