Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Garage Door Technician to join our team at Overhead Door Corporation. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for installing and servicing overhead garage doors, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and service overhead garage doors, including sectional, rolling steel, fire doors, high-speed doors, security grilles, roll shutters, and bifold doors.
- Diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work on overhead doors.
- Communicate and coordinate with the scheduler on problem-solving, provide solutions, and required parts if needed.
- Perform welding for installation or repair if required.
- Effectively assess job scope at the beginning of each job and note any discrepancies to your scheduler immediately.
- Travel to installation and service sites, including out-of-town locations, as required.
- Provide estimates for how many person-hours are required for a service call and the cost to fix versus replace doors.
- Lift at least 75 pounds or more, depending on job scope, and work outside in all different weather conditions.
- Complete all required paperwork daily and submit it on time at the end of each work day.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for service, as required.
- Pass pre-employment screening requirements, including drug, alcohol, and health assessments.
- Hold a valid driver's license and be able to transport product on trailers and manlifts to and from sites safely.
Requirements
- Experience in a service/installation industry.
- Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
- CDI Certification is an asset but not a requirement.
- Relevant safety training and tickets are an asset.
- Experience servicing/installing overhead doors is preferred.
- Lift up to 75 pounds and work outside in all different weather conditions.
- Pass pre-employment screening requirements.
