Job Description:

Arcadis Building Structural Group is working on multiple projects including buildings and subway stations in western provinces of Canada. We are looking for a licensed Civil Engineer in Alberta to join our team as a Design Lead. You will be engaged in structural design on buildings, industrial plants, and subway/LRT underground stations. You will also work on construction support as project needs. This role will require a significant amount of time dedicated to working in a design environment, meeting with project stakeholders and clients.

This role sits within our global business area Places. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe, and sustainable places where people live, work, learn, and thrive. Places impact the quality of people's lives; whether new homes, shops, workplaces, schools and hospitals, manufacturing, research and development facilities, or data and distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Lead structural design teams to achieve project successful delivery.
  • - Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines.
  • - Collaborate with external stakeholders and clients.
  • - Carry out structural modeling, analysis, and design.
  • - Prepare and review structural reports and drawings.
  • - Review construction submittals.
  • - Identify structural deficiencies and provide remedial options.
  • - Review constructability, staging drawings, construction schedule, and cost estimates.
  • - Work with the construction team and discuss the best solutions.
  • - Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders as needed.
  • - Coordinate engineering and commercial issues with the construction team.
