We are seeking a skilled Environmental Professional to join our Fredericton, NB office, where you will primarily support projects in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and across Canada.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annumJob Description:

As an Environmental Professional at GEMTEC, you will collaborate with a team of engineers and environmental scientists on various environmental projects related to infrastructure and land development, renewable energy development, and mine development.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)/Environmental Assessments (EAs) for proposed development projects under provincial and/or federal processes.
  • Plan, execute, and manage field programs/surveys relevant to the assessment of avifauna, wildlife, vegetation, aquatics, wetlands, species at risk, etc.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and review provincial and federal environmental permitting applications and develop required off-setting plans with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Prepare proposals, environmental reports, and associated data analysis.
  • Collaborate with other GEMTEC staff and offices on environmental permitting and related environmental projects of various sizes.
  • Coordinate and complete environmental and socioeconomic studies, Aboriginal, stakeholder, and public consultation programs.
Requirements:
  • An undergraduate degree in a related field, with 5-10 years of experience.
  • A demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time.
  • An understanding of mine development, operation, and closure would be considered an asset.

  • Full-time salaried position with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum.
