You will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation, optimum performance and efficiency of our equipment, including preventive maintenance, emergency and warranty repairs, installation supervision, commissioning of new equipment, system audits, process troubleshooting, technical support, and working independently to minimize customer down-time.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Providing on-site service, investigating and resolving technical problems on mechanical and electrical components of Decanters, High Speed Separators and Plate Heat Exchangers.
  • Installing, configuring, modifying, overhauling, fault diagnosing, and repairing Alfa Laval products, equipment and systems purchased by customers.
  • Performing trial test runs when work is completed to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications.
  • Documenting equipment serviced, parts used, travel/site hours, and expenses to support customer invoicing.
  • Advising operators and maintenance personnel of operating procedures for working safely around our equipment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance service calls on customer equipment.
  • Assisting customer maintenance personnel with technical and procedural troubleshooting techniques.
  • Assisting and training customer maintenance and supervisory personnel on how to operate our equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Developing and maintaining great customer relationships and recommending replacement parts, critical stock parts and system upgrades, service and reliability-related site visits via phone and/or in person.
  • Preparing customer service reports after each service visit to effectively communicate findings, work performed, recommendations and suggested replacement or spare parts.
  • Managing travel arrangements and expenses.
  • Providing a daily report of activity to the Field Service Manager when on a job and when working from the home office.
  • Acting per Alfa Laval standards and working as per our ISO9001, QHSE requirements.

Requirements include a technical diploma with mechanical or electrical focus or technical/vocational training, journeyman status in mechanical or electrical with mechanical and electrical aptitude. A minimum of five to ten years industrial experience with mechanical or electrical focus or demonstrated work-related mechanical and/or electrical proficiency is also required.


Key skills and qualifications include experience and knowledge of heat transfer systems, separation equipment, and the ability to listen to customer needs and develop action plans to satisfy their needs.


We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with strong customer relationship building abilities, excellent influencing, persuading and negotiating skills, high energy, high level of self-initiative and strong sense of urgency, and high integrity.


Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to qualify and perform offshore or platform work, travel internationally without restrictions, and work at heights of up to approx. 50ft using proper safety gear.
