As a key member of the Technology Finance team at Scotiabank, the Finance Team Lead - Technology will be responsible for overseeing the staffing and contingent workforce activities within the Centre of Excellence team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads and drives a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Prepares the reporting and analysis of all aspects of Technology staffing for Executive Office and Technology leadership.
  • Manages Technology's contractor funding pools that reside in the operating budget, including the preparation of commitment analysis and the processing of funding revisions to align to updated forecasts.
  • Oversees the tracking, reporting, and analysis of Technology staffing movements, as well as the management and tracking of approved headcount levels.
  • Acts as the Finance relationship contact for staffing, providing financial guidance to partners in Finance and Technology, identifying and communicating financial-related issues, and obtaining inputs for bottom-up forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
  • Maintains close coordination with Human Resources regarding staffing information, queries, and other related matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience within a large organization.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field with either a professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) or a graduate degree (e.g., MBA).
  • Strong technical skills in MS Excel (MS Excel VBA would be an asset).
  • Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
