Underground Mining Specialist

Procon Mining & Tunnelling Ltd. is seeking a skilled Underground Mining Specialist to join our team in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. As a MacLean Bolter Operator, you will be responsible for completing various underground mining tasks, including installing ground support, performing duties safely using mechanized equipment, and constructing and maintaining underground installations.

Responsibilities:

  • Install ground support as directed
  • Perform duties safely using mechanized equipment (MacLean Bolter)
  • Construct and maintain underground installations
  • Follow all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
  • Perform the role safely and ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority
  • Other mining-related tasks as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an underground miner and 2+ years of experience on the MacLean Bolter
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying 40 lbs. repetitively and on a regular basis
  • Experience working with a variety of crews and adapts well to working with others
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable and able to commit to a 2-week on/2-week off rotation
  • Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high-performing team
  • Preference will be given to those who reside in the Northwest Territories
