Director of Site Reliability Engineering

Loblaw Companies Ltd - Head Office is seeking a seasoned Director of Site Reliability Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our SRE team, you will be responsible for ensuring our Technology Platforms and Compute Infrastructure are built with industry standard practices and are able to scale with our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and grow a passionate engineering team consisting of multi-disciplined site reliability engineers.
  • Drive deep technical design discussions in close collaboration with stakeholder teams to ensure we're building the right systems while maintaining quality.
  • Develop, recruit and retain top engineering talent through mentorship, collaboration and empathy.
  • Continuously improve our software engineering practices with a focus on infrastructure-as-code, toil reduction, and automation.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to influence and guide the design and architecture of applications for improved reliability and performance.
