Job Title: Director, Site Reliability Engineering

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Site Reliability Engineering to join our team at our Head Office in Brampton, ON.

About the Role:

The Director, Site Reliability Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of site reliability engineers to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our technology platforms and compute infrastructure. This role will require strong technical leadership skills, a deep understanding of cloud platforms, and the ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and grow a team of site reliability engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality technology platforms and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence the design and architecture of applications for improved reliability and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve infrastructure-as-code, toil reduction, and automation.
  • Anticipate and mitigate bottlenecks, providing escalation management and balancing business needs with technical constraints.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to drive the adoption of resiliency and reliability principles.
Requirements:
  • Seasoned experience in leading impactful teams in a fast-paced, large-volume, and complex customer-facing environment.
  • Strong background in managing and scaling large-scale compute infrastructure in multi-cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration and virtualization technologies.
  • Understanding of security best practices, compliance requirements, and vulnerability management in cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Experience in developing applications, infrastructure, or platform as code in GCP and/or Azure and/or Oracle Cloud.
