Clinical Therapist Adult Position

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments to adults with Tier-3 mental disorders and Substance Use Disorders.
The Clinical Therapist will work within a Stepped Care framework and practice will be guided by disorder-based clinical care pathways. Each clinician will participate in a consultation group to ensure collegial support, accountability, and effectiveness of assessments and treatments.
About YouWe are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a Master's Degree in a clinical health-related discipline. You must have current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body and a minimum of two years' related experience. You should have in-depth knowledge of the principles of harm reduction, the dynamics of addiction, and evidence-based interventions for the treatment of addiction.
You will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders. You should also have skills in individual/group cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho-educational groups, crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention.
As a Clinical Therapist, you will be able to work independently with limited supervision and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team. You should have basic competencies in relation to identifying and treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders. Experience in interviewing, counseling, and teaching health concepts to individuals, families, and groups is also required.
HoursThe successful candidate will work a regular schedule with flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the team and the organization. Please note that this is a temporary position with a start and end date.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $37.13 - $48.81 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
