Student Recruiter Advisor

The Associate Student Recruiter Advisor plays a vital role in promoting programs and services at Douglas College. This position is responsible for maintaining and executing domestic student recruitment programs, providing exceptional client-centred service to all stakeholder groups, and supervising the Student Ambassador volunteer group.
Key Responsibilities:- Promotes and coordinates programs for domestic student recruitment and related presentation duties, including presenting relevant information to small and large groups, providing information to domestic students on possible post-secondary programs, establishing connections with public and independent secondary schools, and developing and maintaining positive relationships within the university and college community.
- Supervises the Student Ambassador volunteer group, including directing FSO student staff, leading the process of identification and recruitment of students, conducting interactive and innovative trainings, and acting as a professional mentor to students.
- Provides onsite supervision for College events that involve student activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
- A working knowledge of the B.C. post-secondary education system, including admission requirements and programs, graduation, partnerships, and articulated agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including written and verbal fluency in the English language.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Dynamics CRM system.
- Criminal Record Check is required as a condition of employment.
- A demonstrated ability to execute student recruiting activities, including speaking effectively to small and large groups, interviewing prospective and existing students, interacting with people of various backgrounds and cultures, and developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully participate in a wide range of recruiting events, including prospect engagement, volunteer management, and event supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow an experiential student leadership program, including member domestic recruitment, training, resource development, team building, communications, event planning, and evaluation.
- A valid B.C. driver's license and access to a motor vehicle is essential.
