Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work and related duties in various fields, including Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Microbiology, Accessioning, Phlebotomy, and gram stains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory work and related duties under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure accurate and efficient laboratory results.
  • Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Operate related equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth laboratory operations.

Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS.
  • Three to four years' recent related experience.
  • Supervisory training and experience preferred.
